Wendy Jane's Weekend Sounds: Duke Ellington - Jeep's Blues

Duke EllingtonI'm jumping on the hipster wagon with this one.I saw the movie,  American Hustle this weekend, and hearing just the beginning of this Duke Ellington tune in an opening scene, well, it was mesmerizing.  It softly led me to a place in my mind where I'd rather be this Sunday morning.  I love my work, but if I can replay Jeep's Blue in my head today while there, I can imagine myself lingering over my cup of chai tea, blanket pulled up over my shoulders, eyes closed, mind drifting to a dreamy state of jazz bliss led by the one and only Duke.  And, how fitting, the song was recorded right here in Newport, Rhode Island in 1956. SOURCE:www.youtube.com, Duke Ellington, Jeep's Blues posted by Johanna Jem
