There Goes The Neighborhood
"A racially integrated community is a chronological term timed from the entrance of the first black family to the exit of the last white family."- Saul Alinsky A friend of mine said, "Sunday is the most segregated day of the week." Did he mean that during the week we might have a sort of forced integration due to our work, and on Sunday we're not at work or out shopping, some of us are at church or with family, and we are only mixing it up with people who are just like us?Do you live in an integrated community? Whether it's your neighborhood, your workplace, or your school cafeteria table, please let me know your thoughts about how much we mix it up between races--why we do, why we don't, or share a story that relates to the Saul Alinsky quote.
